COMICAL: The Vendor Client Relationship - in real world situations by Scofield Editorial

Comically sad but cuts to the truth of the pricing matter. As much as photography buyers would wish to believe they live in the heart of the Huangpu District in Shanghai where price haggling down  to 1/10 of the original asking price is la mode de jour, they don't. Haters gonna hate. This little video is the silver bullet of passive aggressive explanation techniques to pass onto over zealous rock bottom price sensitive consumers of photography, in the wake of a requests for rock bottom prices, of said price sensitive consumers. Much like the cheery Who Moved My Cheese [link] by Dr Spencer Johnston the harbinger of retrenchment of entry level subordinates office workers by mid level executives the world over, sugarcoating the harsh realities of a globalised capitalist society, in a 96 page palatable pill. which in itself segways well into the whole fusion era we as photographer/(unless you want to wonder where your cheese went) cinematographer, although I'll leave that kettle of fish for another post.

One way of going about pricing could be to have a set list of cost which who are up front about and also are attached to any quote so people can see where all the cost are coming from so it doesn't just look like you are plucking arbitrary sums out of the ether.
